Business of the Week: Tame that Computer!

Tame That Computer!

Tame that Computer! handle home and small business laptop and desktop computer repair, software updates, virus removal and performance improvement.

“We like building computers, too,” says Andy Hobbs, business owner and computer wiz.

“We specialize in remote servicing computers. Every computer we service, we put on Teamviewer remote control software, which allows customers to get help from us without having to drag the computer over to the workshop. We can do quotes, evaluate problems and fix heaps of small errors remotely using this software and it is free to download.”

Tame that Computer offer loads of experience. Andy has been repairing and building computers and peripherals full time since November 1984.

“We can therefore afford to diagnose problems for free, quote for free and not charge if a fault is not worth fixing,” says Andy.

Operating in the region since 2002, Andy says, “Although we have a pretty big population, we like the regional feel – Kurri Kurri, Cessnock and surrounding villages feel like one community where everyone seems to know everyone else.”

“We have four young part time employees who have great skills and we are teaching to be amazing.”

Tame that Computer also provide work experience placement opportunities to the schools of the area and various companies who help people with barriers.

“This is something we’re really proud to be able to do – over a hundred kids have had a week or two of work experience here in the last fourteen years,” says Andy.
