2017 Awards for Excellence

The 2017 Awards for Excellence are out and the Cessnock area has plenty of reason to celebrate!

Our region has again showcased excellence in service and the talent of our chefs and caterers with nominations and winners across the Cessnock region in a range of restaurant and catering categories.

We’ve listed the winners and nominees below, so you can add your congratulations next time you dine at one of these award-winning eateries.

The NSW finalists and winners:

Esca at Bimbadgen Restaurant, Pokolbin were National finalists at the Savour Australia Hostplus Awards for Excellence and were awarded GOLD in the national ‘Restaurant in a Winery’ category.

The NSW Regional Restaurants Awards winners were: Circa 1876, Pokolbin, winner of the ‘Fine Dining Restaurant’ category, Locavore Dining – The Sebel Kirkton Park, Pokolbin, winner of the ‘New Restaurant’ category, and Esca at Bimbadgen Restaurant, Pokolbin winner for the ‘Restaurant in a Winery’ category.

The NSW Regional Catering Awards winners were: Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, Lovedale, winners for the ‘Function/Conventional Centre Caterer’ category, while Circa 1876, Pokolbin received an honourable mention for the ‘Restaurant Caterer’ category.

The national finalists:

The Savour Australia Hostplus Awards for Excellence recognises excellence in service and culinary talent for hospitality businesses across Australia. This nationally recognised program provides the opportunity for business to network with each other and with suppliers, rewarding hospitality and catering businesses that contribute to the hospitality industry with national recognition.
