Cessnock Print Place came in to being just over three years ago. “It is a side brand of BINK Creative Design Studio, which has been operating for the past 14 years,” says Marc Brabander, Owner and Creative Director.

“We started our business as a graphic design business, which included offering printing for the items we designed. We kept responding to our customer’s needs and our business grew thanks to websites we started to build. In 2010 we won Hunter Region BEC Business of the Year, and shortly after we restructured, stopping with websites altogether so we could focus more on our core business strengths in printing and graphic design. Since then we have grown a steady local clientele and offer a full range of print shop services,” says Marc.

“In our businesses Cessnock Print Place, BINK Creative and Memo Office & Art Supplies we have a total 6 staff members.”

Of living and working in Cessnock, Marc says, “It is situated in a unique ‘bubble’ on its own, and we love providing what generally is considered city services and quality to our local area. We don’t just deal with local clients, we service a wide area including Pokolbin, Wollombi, Broke, Singleton, Maitland, Newcastle and surrounds.”

“We are always looking for way to improve and enhance our service offering. Our main focus is our customers – we love working with our customers, and in turn they love working with us.”

Marc Brabander at Local Artist Uncovered

Another exciting development is that our Creative Director, Marc Brabander, currently has an art exhibition on show at Cessnock Regional Art Gallery (Local Artist Uncovered).

The exhibition displays a character that is as rich and complex as daily life itself. And yet, it presents a simplicity and honesty that contrasts with an abundance and depth. Visitors to the gallery indicate this is an exhibition that inspires and connects. Walking through the exhibition, you cannot but help become aware of a humanity that is flowing through the artworks. The descriptions under each of the artworks gives insight into the artist at work.

The Local Artist Uncovered is open every day from 10am-4pm (except Mondays) until 2 July. The artist, Marc Brabander, will also be present in the gallery on Sunday 4 June and 18 June from 1-3pm.

Art After Hours – an informal get together where the artist delves deeper into art on display in the gallery and how it came into existence – 29 June from 5.30pm.

To find out when art classes are held in the gallery, please check the Cessnock Regional Art Gallery website www.crag.net.au
