Finding Yellow is a Cessnock-based disability support organisation which has been providing client-centered support to people living in the lower Hunter since 1982. Our vision is equality and independence for people with disabilities and special needs. We build long-lasting relationships based on mutual trust and genuine care and are committed to a brighter future for people of every ability. In a nutshell, we empower people to change their lives.

 

As a small organisation we are able to respond quickly and be flexible in the services we deliver, tailoring our support to focus completely on our clients. We invest in them, providing support which is based on respect and honouring their individuality. We are committed to diversity, working collaboratively with the community and providing high quality services, which we deliver professionally and with integrity.

 

Finding Yellow offers a full range of programs and services, from accommodation to social outings and holidays, from teaching life skills to supporting employment. We provide an accommodation service in West Cessnock where people can live a supported and independent life. Finding Yellow also provides a drop-in service, providing back-up support to those people already living independently in the community.

 

But life isn’t just about work and accommodation. One of our key programs is Social Circles, an important part of our commitment to creating a pathway for people with disability to realise their full potential. At Social Circles our clients are able to participate in regular activities, be a part of community events and indulge themselves on well-planned and varied holidays.
