For four years, the six-strong mechanical team has been providing all light to medium vehicle servicing and repairs, including air conditioning, wheel alignment and tyre replacement.

Owner Joel Short says he gets a great sense of pride from running a business in the community he grew up in. He’s always on the lookout for ways his business can bring new and better products and services to Cessnock.

“In November we signed on with Pirelli tyres.  It’s a terrific brand for us to offer to our existing customers who want that something a bit special but still at a decent price,” Joel says.

Joel says some customers might not be aware of the complete range of services on offer at Team Automotive Cessnock.

“We have a full mobile licence which operates during normal business hours—and sometimes after hours—that supports most of the surrounding agricultural areas within a 30km radius,” he says.

“We also now offer engine re-mapping for most diesel makes and models which delivers awesome results in both engine performance and economy.”

Versatility is the key to remaining competitive according to Joel who has invested in plant and equipment which enables servicing of heavier vehicles.

“To my knowledge we are one of the few if not the only workshop in town with an 8 tonne hoist,” he says.

“This gives us the capability to service and repair many light to medium trucks and buses. We are also an authorised inspection station for blue slips and heavy vehicle inspections which is rare in the area.”
