Council’s newest business support initiative, Advance Cessnock City, is a one stop online shop for everything businesses need to know about carrying out commercial activities in the Cessnock Local Government Area (LGA).
Advance Cessnock City is a strategic partnership between Cessnock City Council and all local Chambers of Commerce and Industry Associations across the region. The partnership was established to take a strong collaborative and leadership approach to strengthening the City’s economy and to ensure the future economic resilience and prosperity of the Cessnock LGA.
Cessnock City Council’s General Manager Stephen Glen said the new Advance Cessnock City website was an important tool for the local business community.
“The Advance Cessnock City website hosts essential information and important links for business owners and operators,” said Mr Glen.
“Instead of losing valuable time trawling the internet, businesses can visit our site and find links to local Chambers, Industry Associations as well as key Local, State, and Federal services.
“At its core, the new website is a communication and education tool we think our local businesses will find incredibly informative and useful.”
In addition to the website, there will be a weekly E-News Monitor for businesses comprising three need-to-know news articles delivered to business inboxes each Monday, a weekly business profile, and a calendar of business-critical dates and events. Regular economic updates and analysis will also be published on the site.
Mr Glen said the free weekly business profile was a great way to showcase the diverse economic base in the LGA.
“Our region’s visitor economy is catered to by a well-established tourism, hospitality and accommodation sector,” said Mr Glen.
“However, our LGA also has strong health, education, professional services, construction, manufacturing and retail sectors which all contribute to our local economy.
“The weekly business profile will allow our LGA to demonstrate its economic diversity, and at the same time give local businesses the opportunity to increase their online exposure.”
