The Aboriginal Languages Growth Program empowers Aboriginal communities to sustain and grow their languages. By providing grants of $30,000 to $90,000, it supports Aboriginal organisations, groups, and individuals in carrying out meaningful language projects that foster deep transmission and have a lasting community impact. The program aims to:
- Promote the deeper transmission of Aboriginal languages.
- Help communities implement their Language Plans.
- Increase awareness, use, and appreciation of NSW Aboriginal languages through research and resources.
- Build long-term language resilience through continued practice and education.
- Enable communities to lead and strengthen the growth and nurturing of Aboriginal languages sustainably.
Funding is available for initiatives that align with these objectives.
