The NSW Government is dedicated to safeguarding the most significant heritage sites and items across the state. Through the Caring for State Heritage Grants program, Heritage NSW is inviting projects that enhance the management, upkeep, and conservation of items listed on the State Heritage Register (SHR). The program also encourages innovative approaches to increase public access to these treasured assets.
Overview
The SHR, established under the Heritage Act 1977, identifies and protects heritage items of special importance to the people of NSW.
This is a competitive grant round, and eligible applicants can apply for funding up to:
- $50,000 (excluding GST) to create a heritage management document for an SHR-listed item, or
- $300,000 (excluding GST) for conservation or maintenance works on an SHR-listed item.
Applicants must provide matching funds for approved projects, which must be completed between July 2025 and May 2027.
