Early childhood education and care paid practicum subsidy

Closing: 20 September, 2024

Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) providers can receive a subsidy to support early childhood teachers (ECTs) and educators in training during their practicum phases.

This subsidy enables providers to offer staff paid leave while they complete their practicums. The funding is deposited directly into the bank account of each eligible service, which is then required to pass this financial support on to the staff as paid leave.

The subsidy aims to:

  • Assist staff in completing their ECEC qualifications
  • Provide paid leave for practicum periods

It covers up to 8 weeks of practicum per staff member per semester. Providers can apply twice yearly for each staff member, once per semester, with priority given to those who haven’t yet received the subsidy.

Our mission is to nurture a prosperous economy by supporting local business and investment attraction.
