Small Business Month events

Small Business Month is an initiative of NSW Department of Industry. Cessnock City Council and Advance Cessnock City partners are pleased to present:



Let’s Talk Business – 23 October 2018

9 – 11am – Cessnock Leagues Club Auditorium, 1 Darwin St, Cessnock

For small business people who want to learn from the insights of keynote speaker Mark Carter and also from a panel of Cessnock City’s small business leaders.

Mark Carter is globally experienced and a published author. He has held strategic leadership development roles in 40 countries. His niche is in design and delivery of sales strategies and bespoke methodologies for billion dollar sales teams.

During the 90 minute long seminar, Mark will reveal practical strategies you can apply instantly, and give you the tools you need to unlock growth and value in your small business.

In addition there will be a panel of small business leaders from Cessnock City who will each speak on their successes, barriers, and learnings in their own businesses.

Art After Hours l Arty Party – 25 October 2018

6 – 8pm Cessnock Regional Art Gallery, 16 Vincent St, Cessnock.

This is an event for anyone who is working for themselves in the arts or creative industries, or who are interested in doing so. It offers professional resources, information and networking opportunities. Featuring local artist James Whitington, who will speak about his practice and career, and Octopod Director Christina Robberds.

The Central Hunter Business & Community Expo 2018 – 27 October 2018

9am – 3pm Miller Park, New England Highway Branxton.

This event is a platform for businesses, community organizations, sporting groups, local services and market stall holders in the Branxton, Greta, Rothbury, North Rothbury, Elderslie, Lovedale and Belford area.

The purpose of the day is to connect current community members and business with each other, while showcasing the services that are in the local area.

The day will also have refreshment vans and a free kids entertainment zone.

The Business Connect Bus will also be at the Central Hunter Business and Community Expo on Saturday 27th October 2018.
