In partnership with the Hunter New England Local Health District, Cessnock City Council is asking local businesses to take action now by developing and implementing your COVID-19 Safety Plan.
Information on COVID-19 can be found on the NSW Government’s website.
Most businesses will need to complete a COVID-19 Safety Plan under the Public Health Orders, whilst others not yet listed can voluntarily complete a generic COVID-19 Safety Plan.
Go to the page ‘Covid Safe businesses’ and scroll down/select your business type under the heading ‘COVID-19 Safety Plans by industry’. There are different plans for different industries, and they all provide advice on:
- hygiene and safety
- physical distancing
- recording contact details of staff and customers
- staff wellbeing
Each business type has a checklist of matters to be addressed to assist in completing the COVID-19 Safety Plan template in line with the dot points above.
You can register online after you have completed your COVID-19 Safety Plan. When you’ve registered, you’ll get:
- digital COVID Safe badge for use on Google and social channels
- posters on safety and hygiene
- reports on how your customers rate your business safety
- Registering your premises is optional
Additional posters and signage to assist businesses with hygiene, safety and physical distancing requirements can be found online. NSW Health has a range of materials that may be of assistance.
