Pre Development Application Meetings

Before you prepare and lodge a development application, we encourage you to discuss it with one of Council's duty planners to obtain general advice. This is a free service, available via phone or in person between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Detailed written advice can be obtained through a formal Pre-DA meeting. These meetings are reserved for significant proposals, including multi-dwelling developments, subdivisions of more than 10 lots, commercial developments, industrial developments, and all temporary events requiring development consent; or proposals with complex planning considerations.

For additional information regarding development applications visit the Cessnock City Council website.

Economic Impact Modelling

Council subscribes to the REMPLAN Economic Modeling Tool that can be used to quantify the benefits associated with construction, job creation and holding events. This information can be shared with grant funding bodies or investors to highlight the benefits a project may have both economically and socially.

The following tourism impact example has been created using a 2 day music festival with 5,000 daily attendees located within the Cessnock Local Government Area.

We can also help you find your way around bringing public events to life, provide links to paperwork and get you in touch with some great resources to find venues, vendors and staff. Visit Events Help Page
