Supporting our local economic future

Cessnock City Council is seeking like-minded businesses to join us in our aim to grow and develop our people through supporting the Mayoral Scholarship Program.

The Mayoral Scholarship Program is an initiative of Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent to assist local residents in achieving their educational goals.

The objective of the Scholarship Program is to become  a catalyst for developing the skills and knowledge of our residents and encourage them to reach their gainful employment in the Cessnock Local Government Area (LGA), such as hospitality, tourism, education, engineering, medical, mining, communications and manufacturing.

The Scholarships have been running since 2002 and have awarded 218  scholarships  to the value of $545,000 to achieve their dream of either attending TAFE or University.  During this period the project has promoted the image of sponsors in supporting youth, residents and jobs in our region.

If you would like to become a sponsor view the 2021 Mayoral Scholarship Program – Sponsorship Prospectus here and complete the attached Sponsorship Commitment Form before close of business Friday 29 January 2021.

Become a sponsor today and be part of the journey!
