The NSW Government is providing up to $500,000 in grants to eligible sporting clubs and facility owners through the Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program in 2023/24 with grants up to $3,000 available.
In 2023/24 funding is targeted at applicants within the bottom five Socio-Economic Indexes for Areas (SEIFA) as ranked by the Australian Bureau of Statistics in order to ensure the most disadvantaged areas are being prioritised. To be considered eligible under the program, applicants must identify the location the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) will be kept. This location must be in one of the postcode areas listed in Appendix C, of the Guidelines, as ranked by the Australian Bureau of Statistics according to their Socio-Economic Indexes for Areas (SEIFA).

Fee-Free Traineeships provide NSW businesses with access to fee-free traineeships when they employ a new trainee.
Through Fee-free traineeships NSW, businesses can benefit from free qualification training for their trainees. Making it easier for NSW businesses to get the skilled staff they require.
Businesses will benefit by:
- having trainees learning on the job
- up-skilling existing staff
- having employees with the necessary skills required for a thriving and expanding business
- access to courses that can be tailored to meet the needs of their business.
To be eligible, your employee must:
- have commenced their training on or after 1 January 2020
- be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen, living or working in NSW
- be undertaking a course funded under the Smart and Skilled program.
The School Student Broadband Initiative will provide up to 30,000 families with no internet at home free NBN for 12 months.
To be eligible, a family must:
• Have a child living at home that is enrolled in an Australian school
• Have no active broadband service over the NBN network
• Live in a premise where they can access a standard NBN service
• Not have had an active NBN service during the previous 14 days.

Who's eligible?
The SilverChef Community Grants Program is open to eligible Australian community groups that use hospitality or food services to help disadvantaged or under-served members of their local community.
These community groups can include:
- registered charities and not-for-profits
- social enterprises (direct-benefit, cross-subsidy, or donation model)
- private entities with an ABN for which improving the lives of Indigenous people accounts for more than 50% of their time and/or resources.
The Australian Government is inviting applications from NDIS providers, via a demand driven process, to apply for reimbursement to cover payments to staff who deliver close personal support, are unable to attend work due to a COVID-19 infection and have insufficient or no sick leave.
Registered and unregistered NDIS providers, including sole traders, are able to apply. Applications will be considered in the following submission periods:
- submission period 1 is open 11 August to 7 September 2023 for hours lost between 1 April 2023 and 30 June 2023
- submission period 2 is open 3 October 2023 to 6 November 2023 for hours lost between 1 July 2023 and 30 September 2023
- submission period 3 is open 18 December 2023 to 30 January 2024 for hours lost between 1 October 2023 and 31 December 2023.
Only NDIS providers who operate under a valid ABN can apply for the grant.
NDIS providers as defined in the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013, registered or not, including individual providers of disability support (sole traders) and who provide the following classes of supports to participants:
- high intensity daily personal activities, involving the delivery of health related supports
- community nursing care
- daily personal activities and
- assistance with Daily Life Tasks in a Group or Shared Living Arrangement.
The purpose of this grant is to fund innovative projects that empower military families and their communities to develop strong coping mechanisms, foster a supportive environment, and promote overall well-being.
Any incorporated not-for-profit organisation can apply for a FSFP grant. Grants support the delivery of programs and services to help current serving ADF families to navigate the challenges and opportunities of military life such as mobility and absence, foster a sense of community and develop resilience.
The Australian Government is inviting eligible organisations to apply for grant funding under the Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grants Program (the program).
The program is designed to provide funding for projects that promote appreciation and understanding of the experiences of service and the roles that those who served have played, and to preserve, add to the sum knowledge on, or provide access to information about Australia’s wartime heritage.
There are 2 categories of grants available under the program:
1. Community Grants (STS-CG)
Grants to a maximum of $10,000 are available for local, community-based projects and activities.
2. Major Grants (STS-MG)
Grants between $10,001 and $150,000 are available for major commemorative projects and activities that are significant from a national, state, territory and/or regional perspective.
If your project involves restoring/changing a memorial, there may be heritage considerations. Information is available from your state or territory government heritage body, or at the Department of Veterans’ Affairs website.
To be eligible you must be one of the following entity types:
- Company
- Cooperative
- Corporate State or Territory Entity
- Incorporated Association
- Indigenous Corporation
- Local Government
- Non-corporate State or Territory Entity
- Non-corporate State or Territory Statutory Authority
- Partnership
- Person
- Sole Trader
- Statutory Entity
- Unincorporated Association – grant activities up to $10,000 only.
The Marten Bequest Travelling Scholarships offer talented young artists (aged 21-35 at the closing date) the chance to explore, study and develop their artistic gifts through travelling either interstate and/or overseas.
In 2024, the scholarships will provide financial support for the disciplines of acting, instrumental music, painting and poetry to help talented Australian artists achieve their dreams.
In 2025, the scholarships will provide financial support for the disciplines of architecture, ballet, prose, sculpture and singing.
Scholarships are each worth $50,000, payable in quarterly instalments over two years.
The NSW Government established the Community War Memorials Fund to help conserve, repair and protect war memorials across NSW. Since the establishment of the program in 2008, grants have been provided for a wide range of projects including conservation assessments, honour roll repair, war memorial cleaning and conservation work, arborist advice for war memorial trees, security measures for memorials, repairs to war memorial halls and improvements to the accessibility of memorials.
Two application rounds are run each year. The rounds open on Anzac Day and Remembrance Day.
Grant applications are assessed by the State War Memorials Committee, which is comprised of senior representatives of the Returned and Services League of Australia NSW Branch (RSL NSW), NSW Public Works, Heritage NSW and the NSW Office for Veterans Affairs.
This program funds a range of activities that deliver benefits to the arts sector and wider public, including national and international audiences and communities. Organisations that undertake arts programs, projects, or that provide services to artists, are welcome to apply.
Organisations can propose a single project, a suite of projects or annual programs of activity.
Grants are available from $20,000 to $100,000. Supported activities must last no longer than two years from the proposed start date.
This program funds a range of activities that deliver benefits to the arts sector and wider public, including national and international audiences and communities.
Grants are available from $10,000 to $50,000. Supported activities must not last longer than two years from the proposed start date.
Playing Australia Project Investment supports performing arts tours to reach regional and remote communities across Australia.
The program supports net touring costs and other designated costs associated with tours. There is no limit on the amount that can be requested.

The Contemporary Music Touring Program (CMTP) supports national touring activity undertaken by Australian musicians performing original Australian contemporary music.
The tour must comprise of performances in at least three venues or locations outside of the performer’s hometown. Tours that include regional and remote destinations, or which assist performers residing in regional and remote areas to tour, are a priority for funding.
Grants are available from $5,000 to $50,000, depending on the number of tour venues or locations in regional or remote areas.

his grant opportunity provides organisations, such as schools and community groups, with funds to sponsor a student or group of students to participate in STEM engagement events, activities and competitions that are hosted in-person or online, within Australia or overseas.
The intended outcomes of the grant opportunity is to:
support Australian students to develop STEM skills
increase the number of students applying to participate in domestic and international STEM competitions and events
increase the number of students participating in STEM education and going on to a career in STEM
increase engagement and participation in groups under-represented in STEM.
An EV charger can get your business on the map. Literally.
More and more drivers are switching to electric vehicles (EVs) and they’re planning their trips around EV charging locations.
We’re investing $20 million to assist eligible regional NSW businesses and councils by co-funding the purchase and installation of EV chargers at your site. This funding is available through our Drive electric NSW EV destination charging grant.
Join the growing number of businesses that are already plugged in
Businesses across regional NSW have already taken advantage of the grant. With up to 75% of their costs covered, they now have chargers in the ground and the stories to show for it.
On 3 May 2023, the Australian Government announced the Professional Development and Paid Practicum Subsidy Program (program) as part of the 2023-24 Budget. The program is one of a number of urgent actions to help support the skills and training of early childhood education and care (ECEC) educators by expanding access to quality professional development.
For the Professional Development stream, funding of $12.8 million is available in 2023-24. The objective of the program is to support up to 22,000 early childhood educators, early childhood teachers and directors (centre managers) to undertake professional development for up to two days. The amount of the subsidy for this stream will be calculated based on a flat daily rate (calculated based on current July 2022 award rates) with rates for early childhood educators, early childhood teachers and Directors.
For the Paid Practicum stream, the objective of the program is to support up to 2,500 early childhood educators in target areas to complete their formal training towards an early childhood teacher degree qualification or postgraduate studies. In 2023-24, funding of $11.4 million is available. The amount of the subsidy for this stream will be calculated as a flat weekly rate based on Level 3.4 (Diploma) of the Children’s Services Award (2010).
There are 4 elements of eligibility for the program:
1. Basic Eligibility
Eligibility for Services is the same across both program streams. All Services must be receiving the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to be considered eligible.
2. Service types
To be eligible for this program, a Service must be receiving CCS (as eligibility will be determined through CCS records). This includes long day care, family day-care, in-home care, centre-based day care and outside school hours care services. Preschool and kindergarten services are not eligible to receive this Subsidy.
3. Location
The Subsidy is targeted to Services that undertake service delivery in several remote location.

4. First Nations Status
First Nations-owned and controlled Services are eligible regardless of location, as defined in Priority Reform Two of the National Agreement Closing the Gap

Discover the Stories of Veterans in Your Local Community.
Your entry must focus on learning about the experiences, service and stories of veterans from your local community. This will support students as they develop a deeper understanding of Australian involvement in wars, conflicts and peace operations.

Promoting diversity, innovation and service responsiveness in the NSW workforce, the Elsa Dixon Aboriginal Employment Grant subsidises the salary, development and support costs of Aboriginal employees in public service agencies and local government authorities.
Organisations applying for funding under the EDAEG must be registered, based in NSW and provide services within the State.
To be eligible, organisations must be a:
- NSW public service agency; or
- NSW local government authority operating under the Local Government Act 1993.
There are four Elements of the grant:
- Permanent (ongoing) Employment Element
- Temporary (Term Employment) Secondement Element
- School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship Element
- Post School Employment Element
If you are a small business owner in NSW, this $1,000 rebate will help you purchase safety items and improve work health and safety for you and your workers.
The NSW JobCover Placement Program incentivises employers to employ a worker who has a work related injury and is unable to return to work with their pre-injury employer.
The JobCover placement program provides the new employer with incentive payments of up to $27,400 for up to 12 months among other benefits and incentives.
The Workplace Legal Advice Program provides employers with free, independent legal advice to help them deal with workplace issues.
Free, independent legal advice is available to employers on issues like:
- dismissal
- bullying at work
- general protections
- sexual harassment at work.
To be eligible, employers must:
- not have a lawyer or paid agent
- have less than 15 employees
- not have in-house legal, workplace relations or human resources staff
- not be a member of an employer association
- have an enquiry or issue about dismissal, general protections, bullying or sexual harassment at work.
A payroll tax rebate is available for employers in NSW who employ apprentices and new entrant trainees.
To be eligible you must be employing an apprentice or new entrant trainee as defined in the Apprenticeship and Traineeship Act 2001.
The rebate only applies to a trainee who has been continuously employed by the employer for no more than 3 months full-time or 12 months casual or part-time immediately prior to commencing employment as a trainee.
The Start-up Finance Package provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander start-ups with access to loans to help new businesses get off the ground.
The start-up finance package is up to $100,000 and includes:
- up to 30% of a new business loan as a grant to purchase assets for the business which does not need to be repaid
- flexible loan repayment options
- no application or line service fees
- loan term of 7 years
- minimum security requirements.
To be eligible, you must:
- be at least 18 and of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
- own at least 50% of the business, or have at least 50% of the business owned by people of indigenous descent
- have less than $400,000 in actual annual turnover
- have been trading for less than 2 years
- have a commercially viable business model.
