The Net Zero Manufacturing Initiative incentivises businesses to adopt renewable energy practices, enhance energy efficiency, and reduce carbon emissions.
It encompasses three key programs:
- Clean Technology Innovation: Supports startups and innovators in energy systems, electrification, power fuels, and hydrogen.
- Low Carbon Production Manufacturing: Assists manufacturers transitioning to low-carbon processes in building materials, chemicals, and biofuels.
- Renewable Manufacturing: Aids manufacturers of renewable energy products such as grid-scale components and hydrogen electrolysers.
Information sessions are being offered in a Clean Technology Innovation Q&A session on Tuesday, 19 March 2024 at 11.00 am and a Low Carbon Product Manufacturing and Renewable Manufacturing Q&A session on Thursday, 21 March 2024 at 1.00 pm.
Expressions of Interest for the program close on 5 April, 2024.
Applications for the 2024 Rheem Apprentice Plumber Grants open on Thursday 1st February 2024 and close 11:59pm, Sunday 28th April 2024.
This year there are 20 grants on offer, each valued at $3,000.
Each grant includes $2,000 to go towards TAFE/RTO fees and textbooks, and a $1,000 tool voucher to help build your toolbox.
To be eligible, you must be an apprentice plumber or gas fitter in Australia, either current or starting in 2024*.
The Australian Government's Play Our Way program allocates $200 million over 3 years (2024–25 to 2026–27) to enhance women and girls' participation in sports and physical activities.
Aimed at addressing participation barriers, the program offers competitive grants to local governments, community, not-for-profit, and sporting organizations.
Funding supports the creation of safe, inclusive, and sustainable facilities and initiatives, ensuring long-term engagement of women and girls in sports.
Applications close on 29 April 2024 (AEST), with two funding streams available: Facilities and Participation and Equipment.
The Community Heritage Grants (CHG) program assists Australian community organisations in preserving cultural heritage collections. Since 1994, over $8.9 million has funded over 1,650 projects nationwide. Eligible applicants include non-profit, incorporated groups, particularly those with limited funding needing professional heritage expertise. Indigenous and multicultural organisations are encouraged to apply.
The program progresses in three stages across multiple rounds, helping organisations understand, care for, and plan for their collections' future. The annual grants, up to $20,000, initially support significance and preservation needs assessments with heritage practitioners. In the final stage, funding can be used for recommended conservation and collection management activities. Additionally, grants support collection management training projects.
On 3 May 2023, the Australian Government announced the Professional Development and Paid Practicum Subsidy Program (program) as part of the 2023-24 Budget. The program is one of a number of urgent actions to help support the skills and training of early childhood education and care (ECEC) educators by expanding access to quality professional development.
For the Professional Development stream, funding of $12.8 million is available in 2023-24. The objective of the program is to support up to 22,000 early childhood educators, early childhood teachers and directors (centre managers) to undertake professional development for up to two days. The amount of the subsidy for this stream will be calculated based on a flat daily rate (calculated based on current July 2022 award rates) with rates for early childhood educators, early childhood teachers and Directors.
For the Paid Practicum stream, the objective of the program is to support up to 2,500 early childhood educators in target areas to complete their formal training towards an early childhood teacher degree qualification or postgraduate studies. In 2023-24, funding of $11.4 million is available. The amount of the subsidy for this stream will be calculated as a flat weekly rate based on Level 3.4 (Diploma) of the Children’s Services Award (2010).
There are 4 elements of eligibility for the program:
1. Basic Eligibility
Eligibility for Services is the same across both program streams. All Services must be receiving the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to be considered eligible.
2. Service types
To be eligible for this program, a Service must be receiving CCS (as eligibility will be determined through CCS records). This includes long day care, family day-care, in-home care, centre-based day care and outside school hours care services. Preschool and kindergarten services are not eligible to receive this Subsidy.
3. Location
The Subsidy is targeted to Services that undertake service delivery in several remote location.

4. First Nations Status
First Nations-owned and controlled Services are eligible regardless of location, as defined in Priority Reform Two of the National Agreement Closing the Gap

Promoting diversity, innovation and service responsiveness in the NSW workforce, the Elsa Dixon Aboriginal Employment Grant subsidises the salary, development and support costs of Aboriginal employees in public service agencies and local government authorities.
Organisations applying for funding under the EDAEG must be registered, based in NSW and provide services within the State.
To be eligible, organisations must be a:
- NSW public service agency; or
- NSW local government authority operating under the Local Government Act 1993.
There are four Elements of the grant:
- Permanent (ongoing) Employment Element
- Temporary (Term Employment) Secondement Element
- School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship Element
- Post School Employment Element

An EV charger can get your business on the map. Literally.
More and more drivers are switching to electric vehicles (EVs) and they’re planning their trips around EV charging locations.
We’re investing $20 million to assist eligible regional NSW businesses and councils by co-funding the purchase and installation of EV chargers at your site. This funding is available through our Drive electric NSW EV destination charging grant.
Join the growing number of businesses that are already plugged in
Businesses across regional NSW have already taken advantage of the grant. With up to 75% of their costs covered, they now have chargers in the ground and the stories to show for it.
A payroll tax rebate is available for employers in NSW who employ apprentices and new entrant trainees.
To be eligible you must be employing an apprentice or new entrant trainee as defined in the Apprenticeship and Traineeship Act 2001.
The rebate only applies to a trainee who has been continuously employed by the employer for no more than 3 months full-time or 12 months casual or part-time immediately prior to commencing employment as a trainee.
Google Ad Grants shows your message to people searching for nonprofits like yours.
Each qualifying nonprofit has access to up to AU$13,000 per month in search ads shown on Google.com. Additional Google Ads may be purchased in a separate account.
You’ll receive AU$13,000 of in-kind advertising from Google each month to create text-based ads, and get access to tools to help you build effective campaigns that can display on Google Search when people look for information related to your not-for-profit.
The NSW JobCover Placement Program incentivises employers to employ a worker who has a work related injury and is unable to return to work with their pre-injury employer.
The JobCover placement program provides the new employer with incentive payments of up to $27,400 for up to 12 months among other benefits and incentives.
The Start-up Finance Package provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander start-ups with access to loans to help new businesses get off the ground.
The start-up finance package is up to $100,000 and includes:
- up to 30% of a new business loan as a grant to purchase assets for the business which does not need to be repaid
- flexible loan repayment options
- no application or line service fees
- loan term of 7 years
- minimum security requirements.
To be eligible, you must:
- be at least 18 and of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
- own at least 50% of the business, or have at least 50% of the business owned by people of indigenous descent
- have less than $400,000 in actual annual turnover
- have been trading for less than 2 years
- have a commercially viable business model.
The NSW Government has announced the $360 million Net Zero Industry Plan to partner with the manufacturing and mining sectors to reduce emissions and boost energy resilience.
If you are a small business owner in NSW, this $1,000 rebate will help you purchase safety items and improve work health and safety for you and your workers.
The Workplace Legal Advice Program provides employers with free, independent legal advice to help them deal with workplace issues.
Free, independent legal advice is available to employers on issues like:
- dismissal
- bullying at work
- general protections
- sexual harassment at work.
To be eligible, employers must:
- not have a lawyer or paid agent
- have less than 15 employees
- not have in-house legal, workplace relations or human resources staff
- not be a member of an employer association
- have an enquiry or issue about dismissal, general protections, bullying or sexual harassment at work.
