Cessnock City Council are thrilled to announce applications are now open for the 2021 Mayoral Scholarship Program.

Cessnock Local Government Area (LGA) residents who are pursuing further study or training in 2021 are being encouraged to apply for the Program.

The objective of the Scholarship Program is to become a catalyst for developing the skills and knowledge of our residents and encourage them to reach their full potential.

This year Cessnock City Council have changed the criteria to give more locals the opportunity to apply to include those who are undertaking training or study in 2021.

The program targets industry sectors that offer gainful employment in the Cessnock Local Government Area (LGA), such as hospitality, tourism, education, engineering, medical, mining, communications and manufacturing.

Scholarships of $2500 will be awarded to help cover the cost of studies, whether it’s a year’s worth of textbooks, a laptop computer, tools, or student accommodation.

Cessnock City Council have been running the Scholarships since 2002 and have awarded 218 scholarships to the value of $545,000.

Thank you to our sponsors who have come on board to support educational opportunities for our community.
