Suncorp Group has announced a new Community Partnership with the Foundation for Rural Regional Renewal (FRRR).

The aim of the program is to support communities to strengthen their resilience through long-term recovery from significant natural disasters by undertaking community-identified and led long-term recovery activities for public benefit.

The Rebuilding Futures program encourages communities to build back better to reduce the impact of future disasters on community wellbeing and physical infrastructure. While supporting initiatives to increase the mental wellbeing of the community after a significant event.

The first grant round is for communities in New South Wales and South-East Queensland impacted by the March 2021 flood events with Cessnock LGA identified as on of the local government areas named eligible for funding.

Cessnock City Council are reaching out to local businesses within the LGA to ensure that all eligible businesses are aware of this program.

The first Rebuilding Futures grant round opens today and closes on 15 September 2021 part of this grant round, a total of $200,000 will be on offer.

Individual grants of up to $15,000 for local community groups and not-for-profits in areas impacted by flooding in March 2021 will be available.

To support community groups and not-for-profit organisations in the eligible remote, rural, and regional communities FRRR will hold a free online Grantseeker Workshop to assist develop applicants grant submissions.

The interactive session will provide key program information and helpful tips on how to apply for a grant.
