Business Profile

Connie Wood takes photos, stories, memories and histories and turns them into personalised video stories and photo-storybooks for her clients.

She fell into the idea to turn her passion for digital media into her business, Memories and Life Celebrations, after her friend passed away and she created a memory book.

“It’s amazing and so very difficult,” she says about being a part of people’s lives during some of their most significant moments of heartbreak and celebration. “Life is full of celebrations, moments, memories and heartbreak to be celebrated and remembered. I’ve worked with a few families where you go through the entire family history, which is really special” she said. “It’s great being able to do what I love.”

Connie was a winner in Advance Cessnock City’s Business Capability Study prize draw this week. She said she would use the prize money to buy promotional products to market her business.

Connie started Memories and Life Celebrations as part of the NEIS program through Kurri Kurri Business Hub last year.

“Without NEIS I don’t think I would have started a business at all,” she said.

She was previously a stay-at-home mum and director of a non-profit in Belgium that restored ships as training vessels for the Belgium navy.
