Cessnock City Council’s Economic Development Team have five $100 gift cards to giveaway this January as part of their ongoing ‘Support Local’ campaign.

For the month of January, residents are encouraged to post to Facebook or Instagram to describe in 25 words or less how they’d spend their $100 gift card in the Greater Cessnock area.

To ensure the team can see your entry, set the post to public and use the campaign hashtag #SupportLocalCessnock. Residents can enter as many times as they like and are encouraged to tag the local business mentioned in the post.

The ‘Support Local’ campaign is all about encouraging residents to support local business. With 10 competitions planned via social media, a total of $5000 in prizes to be given away, including gift cards, restaurant and accommodation vouchers, hampers and more.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Jay Suvaal, is a big supporter of local business and is encouraging residents to get involved in this initiative.

“Many of our local businesses have suffered due to COVID-19 restrictions, so what better way to start 2022 than to show them our support,” Councillor Suvaal said.

“Shopping local keeps our community strong and you can even use the Dine and Discover vouchers to get more value for your money as the scheme has been extended to June 2022.”

This competition will run from 1 to 31 January 2022. For terms and conditions, visit the Advance Greater Cessnock website and be sure to follow the Advance Cessnock City Facebook page to stay up-to-date with the ‘Support Local’ campaign.

Local business owners can access the ‘Support Local’ campaign toolkit via the Advance Greater Cessnock website to help promote their services and facilities.
