Wild Learning is not your average training course provider. Wild Learning is all about giving people opportunities to learn things that are fun, good for the body and the mind and the community.

“We aim to fill underused spaces with interesting things for locals to do – lots of workshops, short courses and learning events,
everything from sign language to cake decorating, stand up comedy to Bollywood dancing”, says Wild Learning business owner, Emmie Hallett.

Wild Learning is a local social enterprise trying to provide income for community venues and small businesses, engaging skilled locals to teach and share skills and most importantly create more positive, social and educational things for locals to do.

“Wild Learning is also about bringing people together to connect and have a go at new skills and hobbies in a way that is social, relaxed and enjoyable. This is not tick-a-box training, this is learning for recreation” Emmie says.

Wild Learning is inclusive, with programs open to everyone regardless of educational background, ability or life story.

“Whenever I offer up a new opportunity or challenge, people in Cessnock  jump up and want to get involved. It’s a great place to start up new projects and businesses because there is a sense of adventure and a real spirit of community drive here,” says Emmie.

“We are always adding new workshops and courses, so the idea is that there will always be something new and interesting to have a go at,” adds Emmie.
